Coming back strong after a long down-time
The re-start after a long shutdown proved to be difficult for almost everybody. One large German opera house sold out two performances within a couple of days with the help of the Future Demand platform.
A major German opera house was struggling to fill its venue after a long COVID-caused shutdown, and turned to the Future Demand platform to sell out two ballet performances within days.
Challenge
Re-starting operations in early 2021 was proving difficult for the opera house. Despite only offering a limited capacity and ensuring a policy of extensive hygienic measures, visitors were not coming back to events as the opera house had hoped and also expected.
Solution
To boost ticket sales, the opera house decided to set up campaigns for two of their ballet performances on the Future Demand platform. The campaigns were displayed on Facebook and referred directly to the promoter’s online ticket shop. The ads ran for seven days with a budget of a couple hundred euros.
Results
- Performances sold out: through the interest-based approach of Future Demand, both performances were completely sold out within this small time-frame.
- Additional tickets: over 300 additional tickets were sold during the campaign period.
- People reached: more than 30,500 people.
- Additional sales revenue: over €16,000 of extra revenue (five-digit figures).
- ROAS: 41.6:1 return on ad spend — extraordinary even for our high standards.
